Marino is 18 kms from the city of Adelaide. The Kaurna people inhabited this area and is the place of the dreaming story about Tjilbruke.

Marino is separated from Kingston Park by the train line and is a quiet, peaceful village nestled between the hills and the sea.The banner shows the view looking north from Kingston Park toward Brighton Jetty. The area is bounded to the south by the 30 ha conservation park with its historic lighthouse perched on top of the cliff. At the base of the cliff below Kingston Park is the Brighton Caravan Park and Holiday Village and at the top of the hill is the historic Kingston House.Behind the hill is the local  golf club.

Homes are built to take advantage of the views where you can gaze at graceful yachts, small fishing boats and the sparkling blue sea by day and the colourful sunsets that welcome the evening.

A  7.2km coastal boardwalk starts at the Marino Esplanade and finishes at the Hallett Cove Headland Reserve. The walk is unique in the metropolitan area with its rugged cliffs, small coves and rocky coast. The cliffs at Hallett Cove feature significant geological formations with evidence of glacial movements 600 million years ago. Coastal and marine interpretive signage has been installed along the coastal walking trail.
